The green Saudi initiative is a real sign of a new era, in which those arid deserts that extend in all directions are transformed; To green, lush and fruitful gardens; Air quality improves, storms are less severe, temperatures drop, and life grows.
All this across more than 10 billion trees to be planted on areas of up to 40 million hectares; over the next few decades. At the heart of this ambitious initiative with highly privileged and rich goals stands the Qassim region; As one of the most important Saudi regions, it has the authority to establish a large part of such distinctive agricultural schemes and investments, due to the multiple components and advantages that this region has that make investing in it a right decision for all who apply for it. Al-Qassim occupies an intermediate and distinct geographical position in our dear homeland, which gives it an important investment advantage in terms of transportation, logistics and ease of access to all parts of the Kingdom at the lowest costs and easiest ways. In addition to large reserves of groundwater, the government has invested in maximizing its sources and raising its flow rates, through giant projects that have led to an increase in the water network coverage rates by 91%, at a rate of approximately 22.3 hours of pumping per day. In the same context, Al-Qassim has agricultural and production figures that are worth contemplating. For example, the ratio of the cultivated area to the ratio of the total cultivated area in the Kingdom is 18%, while the date palm hosts about 27% of all palm trees in the Kingdom. Therefore, it is not surprising when we say that the average annual productivity of dates is about 300 thousand tons, with revenues and sales of about 2 billion riyals, all this in one sector only, where many other agricultural products and industries join the palm, such as fruits, which represent about 14.7 of the production The Kingdom, and poultry, which suffices 40% of the Kingdom’s needs, as well as vegetables, fodder and wheat. The objectives of agricultural development in Qassim do not stop at the limits of investment and the achievement of returns. Rather, its objectives also include serious steps related to preserving the environment and directing all these projects and future opportunities to play an important role in combating climate change and contributing to the preservation of the global environment, which are major goals that have been dedicated and stressed It has the Kingdom's ambitious vision 2030. The government sector translates these environmental goals of great value and impact, through the green oasis of Buraidah, which is one of the largest environmental sanitation projects in the Kingdom, at a cost of more than 77 million riyals, and with a total area of 28 million square kilometers, and with the longest irrigation network, extending to more than 40 how much. The most beautiful thing about the Buraidah Oasis is that despite its declared environmental goals, it also includes investment components, whether tourism or agricultural production, which establishes sustainability and increases the weight of the attractions that Qassim enjoys.
